Just need 1, 15inch sunraiser to suit the the wagon (y60) It needs roadworthy tread on it as its only gunna be a spare. (have been looking for one for 3 months now (and its holding up rego!!)

Can't you borrow one, down here in Mexico if you have spare must be RW. If no spare no problem, only yours if you get a flat,

Yendor
23rd July 2012, 06:36 PM
I believe the laws regarding spare wheel in QLD have changed.

You no longer require a spare but if you do have one the tyre must be roadworthy.

It may pay to call the place that is doing the inspection and check with them.

Does anyone have a clean (ie. not welded) engine pipe for a non-turbo TD42. The one that runs from the manifold to the start of the exhaust. I thought with all the extractors and turbo conversions that these must be everywhere but I can't seem to find one. I'm in Victoria. I guess shipping will be hefty for something like this. Thanks.

If u can't find me then get your local exhaust shop to fan one up. Can't see it taking too long or costing too much. As reference my local place built me a custom 3" mandrel dump pipe for $220.

Doesn't really matter what kind - my old boy is after one to use up in his mine site in Central Queensland.

Specs as follows:

Roadworthy (registered at least so he doesn't have to get one)
Diesel
Reliable (rust and garbage not too much concern so long as it's not "end of life")
Cheap, cheap, cheap (using to cart machinery around, so no need for anything flash)
Make/model not important
Trayback preferably

If anyone has one, knows of one, etc - please let me know and I'll put you onto the old boy - he can negotiate with you direct.

Cheers

Hi all

Am looking to modify a set of control arms for my truck as I don't have big bucks but need something a bit stronger than stock. I also don't want to try on my existing ones incase i stuff something up.

If anyone has upgraded their suspension and has a set laying around that they don't want and are willing to part with them, PM me what you want for them and I'll see what I can do.

you should be able to get some from the wreckers for about $50 a side. or you could just wels a bit of 10x25 flat bar along it as a spine. if you cock up grind it off and go again

Exceptionally well looked after. To name some prefered options ( not a nescessity, any considered) im chasing pto winch, sunroof, elec windows.

I know but they are out there! Other thing is the interior, brow

Discovered that I'm missing the wheel brace/jack handle for the factory jack. I have the long hook handle, it's just the cross piece (which seems to also be the wheel brace) that's missing.

Also after a set of 4 or 5 285/75R16 all terrains in good condition. Was looking at a set of Yokohamas for $1K, but if I can pick up something similar secondhand for about half that, I'm keen.

I regularly travel to Newcastle, and happy to drive out to Bathurst or down to Bowral to pick up the tyres if necessary.

Hi all, I have recently bought a 1999 St Patrol. The motor turns out to have quite low compression, to the point it is not reliable.

In the many, many hours I spend on this forum reading (it's my fav site ) I have seen that some of you patrol gurus have had spare motors that you may consider selling in the past so I am now putting the call out.

If any one has a reasonable condition RD28TI motor for sale, or would consider selling, please let me know.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance to any one who may be able to point me in the right direction.

I am in need of some parts for my GQ, I do not need all of them I just thought I would advertise that I am looking for these things and would like to know if anyone could help me out. Anyway this is the list I am after:

Don't need anymore - Rear sway bar (doesn't have to have the links)

Got it - Rear dickie seat (I have all the mounts and seat belts just no seat)

Power Steering Pump for TB42E engine

Adjustable Tie Rod

Adjustable rear Panhard Rod

Got it - Roof Racks (whatever style I haven't made my mind up yet)

Got it - UHF Aerial (decent one with a coil)

Steel Front Bar (Winch or non-Winch as I don't have a Winch - yet anyway)

PM me on here or reply to the thread with anything you could have for me.

Second hand Ones seem to be quite rare for the Gqs and pricey too - well over this neck of the woods any way.

I bought a GU one for my GQ and before anyone says anything...... yes they do fit, just.......... but the fixing brackets need a bit of modifying. I haven't fitted mine yet but one of our club members has done it and works a treat....... oh and i only paid 30 clams for it from a car rental place who were stripping down their fleet of GUs ready to sell. Just keep an eye out on gumtree and ebay

If he just wants it stripped and serviced, brake kit overhaul and maybe a drum seal kit I'd be happy to do the work for a fee. I will supply the service kits. I can organize the brake shaft mods too but would need the winches a couple of weeks at least.

I can put a fill and drain point in the casing along with a breather outlet on the motor.

Just thought i would throw this out there, I have a complete loom for a td42 1990 model, the belhousing needed for a diesel the starter motor and all the fuel lines and filter mounts for in the engine bay, the correct dash cluster for the engine aswell. a couple years back i toyed with the idea of putting a turbo diesel in my 1988 gq wags, i actually talked myself out of it due to loving the sound of the tb42 and the fact that i couln't really be bothered taking on another project at the time, mind you the diesel would have been a better option, i sold the engine for $2500.00 the car it came in only cost me $1000.00. long story short i need a tb42e computer, loom, coil, fuel pressure reg and all the relays and modules for the panel next to battery.

If you are concerned about your diffs then it will just be a slightly longer tyre change. Putting the slightly different sized one on the front without the hubs locked in you wont ever see an issue.

I need the connectors and a bit of the loom from a GU combination (headlights blinkers wipers ect) switch for my conversion. Any one wrecking a GU that has these surplus to your needs can you give me a PM.

Hi Warnie,

I am probably about to start breaking up my 94 GQ to sell, except for busted td42 diesel engine unfortunately.
Let me know if you still want anything?

Hi All,
I'm after a cargo barrier for our 2003 Nissan Patrol. It needs to go behind the second row of seats and allow for three anchor points (for child car seats). Does anyone have a second hand cargo barrier or can point me in the right direction for purchase/installation?
Thank you kindly.
Cheers,
Nic

Gday Nic, always a good idea to pop into the intros section before asking for help, start up a thread and let us know a bit about you, you rig and where your from. Something that's asked of all new members.

No biggy.......... anyway you be hard pressed to find one with holes for three anchor points. Patrols only have two anchor anchor points behind the second row. Have you tried gumtree for your local area? Or ebay.

Edit......... I found mine through gumtree, local car hire company had a few for sale and grabbed one for $30........ great condition.
Most I've seen advertised are around to 150 mark

Do you use facebook? There is someone wrecking a td4.2 at the moment in Sydney that might have that plastic cover your chasing
