Well after the lift went in I noticed that both diffs have moved about 12mm. Is that enough to warrant adjustable panhards.
I did make my own years ago on a VL, or there's this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-Patrol-Y60-GQ-Series-1-GU-Front-Rear-Adjustable-Panhard-Rod-DIY-Kit-/141646969199?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item20fad1396f

Personally wouldn't mate. The forces against a 4x4 panhard is a bit more than a vl.

12mm is borderline. (guessing it was a 3" lift)

I'd but new ones, and that means you can upgrade to a heavier duty set to

Yeah x 2. General rule is up to 2 inch lift is fine 3 inch preferable 4 inch & upwards will definatly need adjustables, so guessing yours would be around 3 inch?

Haven't seen those build your own kits but personally would fork out the extra and get some good aftermarket adjustables. You get thicker tubes and will be heaps stronger. You'd want to be pretty confident with your welds too for any suspension stuff, a brocken Panhard in the desert would be a PITA, worth spending the extra on some things i reckon.

Nah, 2", but might be a little more.
Had original height measurements but misplaced the paper so can't compare

Owell 2" don't sweat it.
You can if you want but not critical.

Yeah, I know, its not because its 2" its more the fact that its 12mm.
At what stage in diff movement not lift height so you use adjustable panhards.

I think you should. It's 12mm out. Panhard rods already give odd handling characteristics on big angles and when the suspension is pushed to the limit of its travel at speed. It gets worse as you get higher and not having your diffs central to the body dosn't help either.

The threaded adjusters like those break with only light wheeling

I'm going to get both front and rear bars.
Not just yet need to replace all brake pads first.
Another one for the list....

Why, are your diffs out as well?
I had no intention of changing them and I'll won't be doing it anytime soon. Its 12mm I don't think that its that much. Plan is to do drag link and both panhards before next set of boots.

Yeah not as much as 12mm though

Just looking back at this and thinking will this help with wheel alignment along with an adjustable draglink?

the factory panards have a thin see wall and i would not weld them ever. Replacement with a HD one is a winner. The 12mm may see more counter lever weight over one side and increase the lean angle on the body driving down the hwy, this may affect your handling characteristics for sure. If you can centre it would be better for sure.

The adjustable Drag link gives you a HD Drag link which is very exposed at the front and the idea is that it will let you centralise the steering box back to natural designed centre for optimum performance. Just adjusting the steering wheel by taking it off will see your steering box offset by that amount and may shorten your steer to one side.

Thanks MR,
Do basically the panhard will help with the stability on the road and the draglink repositions the steering wheel back to the center, which in turns helps to get a correct alignment done. True?
