CAT. Have the best CCA ratings and the size that fits in the patrol is only $212. They have an awesome warranty also. Its 4yrs and if it fails in the first 2 its a complet replacement and i think if it fails in the last 2 they pay half.
175-4390 (328.4x171.2x236mm) Maintenance Free 1000 CCA 180 RC, by the specs this one is ever so slightly better.
Also 115-2422 (same measurements except height is 240.3mm) Maintenance Free 1000CCA 170RC.
The price I have through CAT parts store- 175-4390 $212.14
- 115-2422(9X-3404) $204.37

A lot better value in my opinion compared to optima with the warranty and all. And they are designed to comp a pounding in off highway machinery.

Young bloke picked up the battery and Bugger it won't fit in the battery tray, will have to try tomorrow and see if I can get a slightly smaller one.

In what way doesnt it fit? The specs are near identical to a N70 size battery. Is this for your main or second battery?

Main battery, just about 20 mm too long to fit the battery tray, it also has threaded posts on it rather than the normal ones which didnt bother me but it just won't fit length wise.

Can you take your battery tray out and bend teh end over to flatten it and then reinstall and fit the battery? I did this to the Secondary battery tray in my TD42Ti and its tight but i have a bigger battery in there..... Not sure what size though. Bugger the Cat was sounding Insanely good!

newby i have got one from them that is 315 mm long so that will fit no worries, will pick it up this arvo and see how we go with that, still a good battery cheers. My third i did also think about doing that but then it was too high for the battery hold down hooks so too much drama will just go with the smaller one thanks guys
8c-3602 710cca is the one that will fit according to the spares guy, shame its not the 1000cca but a lot cheaper than any others around.

ok picked up the battery, even tho it is only slightly shorter it physically feels a lot smaller and is the same size as a n70zz for $138 with 2yr full warranty and 2yrs pro rata, great value and i will at that price probably get another smaller one to fit the second battery position as well, thanks again for the tip newby.

Thanks stropp. I'm glad your happy with your decision. Even though it's smaller the specs are similar to that of a n70

Thanks for the thread. I bought a 8C-3602 two days ago for 128 + GST. It's not a premium battery as I found out they all have the contacts at the wrong side for GQs (on the left rather than the right when facing the windscreen). I didn't feel like extending the cables due to a bit of time pressure. It's a 710cca maintenance free battery and with 315x170x229 (length, width, height) it fits perfectly. 4 years warranty with 1 year exchange and 3 years pro rata.

Hey Stropp also check if they are able to handle the underbonnet temps, My battery guy wouldn't sell me a sealed one in case it exploded and he copped the bill, BTW I run a 110 AH wet cell Trojan AUX , and love it,Start i also wet cell ,but will change to AC delco next 770 cca but would like to run dry cell worth checking with insurance as well
