Hi guys. I have the chance to pick up a Garrett tb0350 turbo for a 6er, and wondering if it's worth it for a TD42.

ATM my bus is NA, and I really can't find much info in the turbo. It looks clean, from what I can tell its a bush bearing type but feels smooth. No fins missing.

So any info would be much appreciated, or should I leave it?
Also what would I be looking at to fit it to my bus. It's got 480k in the clock so is it worth it?

Ok, I've found out its made for Volvo.
But no specs rpm range.
I have seen on one site it's suitable for a 5ltr, so a 4.2 should be good. 130 kW, not aiming that high..

Looks like it should do the job and sounds like it should be alright. Where are you located maybe try giving United fuel injection a call or Diesel central both these places will be able to give you an answer pretty quick

Yes mate United Fuel Injection is in WA just google them and give them a call Matt is the man to talk to there.
Diesel Central is near rockhampton in QLD same deal google them and give him a call Shaun swaffield is the man here.

Both these blokes and their companies are highly knowledgable in the turbo diesel world and may even have you having second thoughts about your 130kw :)

I don't think the old girl would handle 130kW....

Oops I forgot about this on the other site.
If it is a .48 exhaust housing in T3 that is about right. It maybe a little slow in response as the exhaust side is slightly larger than the GT28 turbines, it would flow allright though.
The compressor side is a 60mm 60trim. Look up a T3 60trim compressor map.

Diesel and KW proberly isn't what your really concerned about.
NM should be the focus, that's Newton Metres.
or torque if ya like.

standard figures from Marks adaptors site are as follows.

85 KW @4000 rpm.
264 NM @2000 rpm.

My Wife's old lancer 1993 1.8 Ltr developed around 70kw std.
see what I mean about kw not the focus.

someone correct me for said engine.
130 KW say 450+ NM possibly.
you'd love this sorta grunt.
grunt not power.
cheers.
