I have booked in my Taipan exhaust and diesel chip upgrade in two weeks time
It should be a vast improvement from standard and I can't wait.
Will be going camping queens birthday weekend and would like to see what it does on the Hume hill climbs and the fuel economy. Hopefully gearing down less and keeping the power on

yes!!!!!!!!!!!!.

if you work it really hard and the turbo gets really hot you can turn you motor into a boat anchor real quick

What's your definition of really hard, and for what reasons do you use the gauges, apart from the obvious what do they tell you.

boost and egt. If your egts get to high you can basically melt your motor (put holes in pistons etc) so if you have a egt gauge you can monitor it and if anything goes wrong drive it accordingly. Some of these chips these days are incorporating egt controls into them so its not to much of an issue then.

And hard like towing or just giving it a good ole thrashing. EGT's are harder to keep under control in the older style motors with no intercoolers i havent heard of anyone having any issues with the new crds

DP chip and Taipan exhaust getting fitted now, just waiting to pick it up.
Can't wait.
And I will be getting gauges fitted but that will be the next mod before lift kit

Yes sorry folks phone had no battery left and only just got home.
Surprisingly at the first drive I was not overwhelmed by extreme power. But throughout the night I started to realize how different the car actually was. Real easy exceleration at any rev range, seemed much smoother.
I can definitely feel the power increase now.
Fabulous note from the exhaust, I was worried that it would too droney inside the cab but is almost the same as it was, very impressed.
I now want to see the economy improvements.

You probably won't see much improvement in economy - simply because you will drive it like the go cart it has become rather than the battleship it was before !!!

P.S. I love all the details in some of the signatures. Anyone looking to knock off a car has a ready made shopping list. Some times it doesn't pay to advertise.

Noted, never thought of it like that

Changed the chip setting from 7 to 3 to see difference in fuel economy but really hasn't changed that much (I suppose I did get a few k's more with 1 less litre of fuel used) but I have noticed the reduction in power that's for sure.

Am curious, what was your fuel economy like before and what about now. Mine seems to have improved but to early to tell. By the way have you settled on your suspension upgrade yet??

I will let you know on economy tomorrow. As for suspension I guess narrowed down to OME or KONI but really , still not sure.

If you wind up the DP chip say 7 and above it'll just blow black smoke, setting number 5 seems good for towing and all round good drive

Can't go past Koni, plus rebuildable

Tested over 7 tanks of fuel each
Fuel consumption b4 C&E: 14.78l/100
C&E set on7: 14.33l/100
C&E set on 3: 13.62l/100

Best fuel saving tip I got from this forum where someone said to try and keep revs under 2500rpm throughout the gears
