Tips on how to maintain & protect your new car's paint work

There is a large choice of wax's and cleaners out there that will keep your car looking as good as new for many years. Whether your treating yourself to a brand new supercar, a classic or upgrading the daily. You can keep it looking as good as the day you bought it.

    1. It is important to use a PH balanced car wash like Mothers California Gold car wash, this will ensure that the wax stays on the car but the dirt comes off and the car is left looking new.
Use the Foam to wash the car as it will lift the dirt off, rinse the sponge in a separate bucket after each panel, much better than shifting it the next part of the car with a dirty sponge!
Use an MLH chenille sponge and microfibre Chamois to remove the rinsing water and follow this with a large MLH microfibre towel to pick up the missed spots.

2.Waxing - what are the options? It’s really up to you and what you want out of a car wax. Some enthusiasts prefer the old school types, BUT a proven classic such as Mothers Carnauba wax because of it's natural ability to protect all painted surfaces new or old, and then some like the more modern day stuff like Mothers FX Syn Wax. A full synthetic wax that offers a very high gloss finish and looks great on silver and light coloured cars. It sheds water quickly off the surface; the other benefit is its easy application and removal. It can be applied in warmer weather as well which is always a bonus.

And finally the ultimate combo would be both Carnauba and Synthetic waxes in Mothers Reflections Topcoat offering the best of both worlds and gives Black and Red colours great depth and wet look shine. (Show cars and professional detailers favourite)

    3. Application, when applying any of the waxes ensure the surface is completely clean and work in a cool dust free area.
Use MLH Micro fibre applicators to apply wax evenly. Use a 2nd MLH Microfibre Towel to remove the Wax. Remembering to fold the towel and not scrunch them up, clean a section and then refold to clean another section. Follow the instruction on the label for drying times of the wax before removal.

If you are finding the wax is greasy to take off it has either not been on long enough or too much was applied.

If you find the Wax hard to remove and is baked on, again too much wax may have been applied or it was applied in direct sunlight.

Why all the Microfibre use? 26% of all new car sales are black to charcoal metallic which means scratches. The more you can reduce scratching of the surface the better the finish.
