Tell all your family/ friends/ business acquaintances - in fact tell everybody about this!
For all Australian respondents..
Telstra Phone book
For anyone contemplating using the Sensis directory service number, 1234, DON'T!
Sensis, as you may or may not know, is a subsidiary of Telstra.

The 1234 number is replacing the Telstra 12456directory assistance number, but this time with outrageous costs attached: 40c to call the number, then 4c A SECOND!

By law, Telstra must provide a FREE directory assistance number.
They choose however not to pass this number on to the public.
The free number is1223
Thumbs down to Telstra for finding a way to 'charge', for a service that is supposed to be provided for free.

Of course, feel free to forward this on.

Also they still have the free talking clock - 1194 - handy for resetting all the bloody electricals (that now feel the need to display the time), after we have a blackout. Or more correctly I,ve stuffed up and tripped the house again.
Mental Note: put seperate circuit in for shed.

Thanks AB just waited a week for a new modem from telstra as their original piece of Chinese junk only lasted about 2 years so hoping Belgium one last a bit longer.
Not very happy with their slow service, but must say I was very happy with the call to their service dept the bloke could not have been more helpfull.

And they literally announced today a 1.74 billion dollar quarter to December and 982000 (no mistake, 982000!!) new phone lines connected for the financial year to date ....

Poor buggers ... doing it tough, so no wonder they have to employ dog tactics to get more money ...
