Has anyone used or had a look at the Vision X Cannon LED Driving lights? I have wrangled myself a set cheap for 'Evaluation' and though I would see what anyone else's opinion of them was?

I am concerned about the colour of the light as i know too well what its like when you turn off you drving lights and have to suddenly see by the old GQ headlights, but at the same time I have uprated globes (being a Safari I has some Osram +100 Truck Globes and IPF Reflectors) so they are a bit 'whiter' and brighter than the normal old GQ lights.

If anyone is interested I will post some findings once they arrive. They are supposed to be coming with some extra covers which 'Supposedly' change the bean to a euro beam. I think it just diffuses the light more than change it though. They are the 120mm size lights which appeals to me as they should be quite compact.

Anyway..just seeing if anyone else has tried them..i figured for the money i paid..think ebay light money..i figure it was worth a look.

Of course we're interested... In the pics! And your description.

So how are Euro beams different to (jap?) beams?

Their 4x4 Light bars are awesome quality but very expensive.
Their quad gear is also top of the wazza

I thought the 4 1/2 inch jobbies would be aimed at Quads and ATU's etc so don't know how well they will do on a full size 4X as they have opted to go for filters for beam shaping.
To me it seems they are competing aagainst their own bars but, Pfft, they knwo what they are doing, I am only guessing.
Maybe they are after something to punch light out past the bars

My gut feel is that the beam will prove way too narrow but what else can you do with only 25 watts of power at around 2500 lumens (photopic)

You see a lot of the yank trucks with pencil LEDs/HID's up high either side of the screens for some reason

I applaud the manuf for actually using Lux and S/P ratios in their specs tho... that takes balls

Have a look at the vid..starting around 1:26 mark where it shows the difference the covers 'supposedly' make

another video where its compared to the old Rigid Dually..start at the 13:2o mark

The 'Euro' covers seem to be what most pick to use. Interesting that they o-ring seal the covers to keep water and dust out from between them and the light.

They tend to use the little 120mm ones on JKs a lot and from all reports in the US they get quite good reviews.

I think your right though..these will punch out further than the light bars so probably compliment them quite well.

It is the size that has me interested..if they do actually put out a decent amount of usable light (I am not a big believe in having to have a small sun on the front of the truck), then I think they may be ok and leave room for a small efficient light bar as well to give that near field illumination.

The lights should be here in the next couple of days..covers will be a bit longer as he didn't have any.

At the end of the day I had heard a few god things about them and after asking a mate in the US about them he organised the 'Eval set for me:). So effectively getting a pair of lights, harness (not that i need it) and 2 x Euro covers, 2 x black protective covers for well and truely less than the US wholesale price of a single light.

Once they arrive I will get some pics and start the whole process..i figure worse case scenario, i can stick them on ebay and get my money back lol

Yeah, the Creepy Jeepy's love having a pair of Spots up near their mirrors facing forward with 'fooly sik' custom covers for some reason.
Could be a Jeep thing, could be redneck moose spotters, could be "look at me, look at me".

Euro beam is the best use of available light from a single source.
With a small light bar I would suggest that will do everything the Euro filters will and more but the proof is in the mail.

Looking forward to hearing your views when you get them going.
They make really nice kit so quality shouldn't be an issue
