Think you may have hit the nail on the head there. He's talking about Radius Arms !!!!
I wonder then if he was implying that the bushes had collapsed and as such the diff had moved thereby preventing proper alignment between the front and back. Ive had a quick look and see no evidence...
Hi there, just had new tyres fitted to the GQ with a wheel alignment also. The shop said though the wheel alignment is 'better' now its still not perfect because the 'control arms' are seized. First...
'Years ago'? I thought 1994 was years ago but I get what you mean.... Not much built to last or be serviceable. I lifted the bonnet on the wife's new Golf the other day and shut it pretty damn quick...
Righto thanks, just the steering box to check then
Yeah got the uni's covered (prop shafts eh?) and the steering. Wonder if there is a diagram somewhere showing all the grease points
I was under the GQ today putting some grease in all the grease nipples I could find. There were some at either end of each prop shaft and some of the drag link. Where else are there some. I'd be...
thanks guys
Thanks guys, is petrol effective as well?
I've got several cans of that but am basically going to have a tub to put the parts in so need quite a lot. I saw they had 'parts washer' in Supershit but again is it just normal degreaser with a...
I was going to buy some brake cleaner as I am doing a full swivel hub and bearing rebuild and may as well put new seals in the brakes etc. Now what exactly is 'brake cleaner'? Is it just a degreaser...
gggrrrr why is all the good gear always somewhere other than Perth
Well they'll steal it turbo or not.... Get one of them steering wheel brace locks. A pain to put on and take off each time but stops the bastards...
I'm in a similar situation myself. Probably going to go a Radius Fabrication top mount manifold (about $500 delivered) and a Kinugawa 16g/6cm turbo (about $1000). Will then just have to get some oil...
Oh bloody eck, so the post 95 ones are also a different length... The mind boggles !!!!
Thanks Robo..... anyone got access to the parts catalog? If so can you see if there are different sumps
Right so it definately looks like the early ones are around the 495mm mark and the later ones ie Oct 91 - 95 are 483mm ish....... The damned sumps must be different else the levels would be different
I just remembered mine was wire rope too... Winnie, from your sig yours is a 93 model, correct? What about yours Growler (month/year)?
Oh, Winnie, did you measure from/to same place as Growler?
Winnie, thats what mine looks like.
AB, that looks skinny, is that side on? Is there a fatter side....
I reckon its the handle end where the differences maybe (as OldMav pointed out in another...
happygtu,
I'll check with Patrolapart for the price of the early dipstick. If its much less than Mr Nissan ($43 I think) I will take you up on that offer. Thanks
mmm it appears that perhaps the only difference might be that the early ones are only longer as they did not have a stopper (or return) as such that fitted inside the dipstick tube to provide a...
Good stuff. So we can assume that the earlier ones are 12-15mm longer than the one I have..... tis quite bizarre.
Just spoke to my offsider who has a much earlier Mav and he says the one he used...
Thanks wa, hopefully I'll get a few more measurements and then can sort out what I need to get..... at the moment it looks like a 12-15mm difference between the pre 91 and post 91 models (assuming...
That would be the best place to measure I guess. Am also interested in the length of the tip itself.....
AB, I think Patrolapart were the ones that initially told me they were different and that...
